At Parkland CARES Food Pantry, we believe it’s never too early to learn the value of giving back. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our Kids CARES Program, designed especially for school-aged children through 8th grade.

Kids CARES offers a fun, meaningful, and hands-on way for children to learn about their community while making a real difference for local families.
What Kids Will Learn
- Through interactive discussion and engaging activities, participants will:
- Learn about food insecurity and how it affects families in our community
- Understand why Parkland CARES exists and the impact our Pantry has locally
- Discover how even small actions can make a big difference
- We encourage questions, conversation, and curiosity throughout the program!
What Kids Will Do
Kids CARES isn’t just about learning — it’s about doing. Children will participate in age-appropriate, hands-on service activities such as:
- Volunteer activities may include:
- Sorting and organizing donated food
- Date-checking products to ensure safety
- Weighing food donations
- Packing food items for families
- Stocking shelves
- These activities give children a behind-the-scenes look at how our Pantry operates while allowing them to contribute in meaningful ways.
